Winter Olympics Party Food: Russian Apple Cake

In honor of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, I recently hosted an Olympic Game Night, complete with themed and nerdy food! 

From international sodas and Bugle/salsa torches to curling stone stuffed mushrooms and Sochi mochi gold medals, we had plenty of tasty treats to enjoy. This particular recipe was a Russian/German apple cake - my great grandfather's favorite.
